Dakota Plains Legal Services, through a grant from the Indian Land Tenure Foundation, is offering community meetings for trust land owners in South Dakota.   

The meetings focus on protecting a tribal member’s family Indian land interests and options tribal members have to preserve trust land interests including how to: 

  • Resolve issues of multiple owners in trust land (fractionation)
  • Consolidate current trust land holdings
  • Retain current trust land and the income received from it for life
  • Ensure who will receive your land in the future
  • Avoid allowing someone else to decide who will get your family’s Indian land when you pass
